Ethan Gelber is a native New Yorker and graduate of Yale University (B.A.) and Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (Masters in International Affairs, with a focus on International Education and Cross-cultural Communication).
 
He has devoted the last 20 or so years to a somewhat baffling diversity of projects, most associated with writing/editing, cross-cultural communication and education, travel, bicycling and the arts.
 
Ethan has traveled extensively, often by bicycle, in Europe, the Mediterranean, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Americas. He speaks fluent French, functional Italian and Spanish and sloppy German. Along the way, he has also picked up some basic Sinhala and Arabic. 

Most recently, after a year living and working in Sri Lanka (September 2004 to September 2005), he moved to his wife's home town of Sydney, Australia, where they welcomed a son into the world.
